John Malkovich Joins Ayo Edebiri, Will Sharpe Apple Series ‘Prodigies’
John Malkovich has recently joined the star-studded cast of Apple TV+‘s upcoming romantic comedy series, “Prodigies,” as a guest star. The series, created by Will Sharpe and starring Ayo Edebiri as Didi and Sharpe himself as Ren, follows the story of two former child prodigies who have been inseparable since childhood. Now in their early thirties, they begin to question whether their ordinary lives are living up to the extraordinary promise of their youth. The series delves into their relationship dynamics as individual needs and desires clash with their shared history, challenging the traditional narrative of romantic storytelling.
While details about Malkovich’s character have yet to be revealed, this project reunites him with Edebiri, with whom he previously collaborated on Mark Anthony Green’s thriller film, “Opus,” in 2025. This will be Malkovich’s second venture into Apple TV+ territory, following his role as Lucien Lelong in “The New Look,” a biographical drama about Christian Dior and Coco Chanel.
Joining Malkovich, Edebiri, and Sharpe in the cast are Andrene Ward-Hammond, Yumi Asō, Tobias Menzies, Rina Sawayama, Sophia Di Martino, Reece Shearsmith, Nabhaan Rizwan, Meera Syal, and Lolly Adefope. Will Sharpe, in addition to creating and writing the series, serves as an executive producer alongside Edebiri, Jane Featherstone, Naomi de Pear, and Katie Carpenter through Sister Productions.
Stay tuned for more updates on “Prodigies” as production continues and be sure to catch Malkovich’s guest appearance in this highly anticipated Apple TV+ series.
