‘Jurassic World Rebirth,’ ‘The Wild Robot’ and ‘Wicked’ Lead EMA Noms

The 35th annual Environmental Media Awards has announced its nominees and hosts for this year’s ceremony. Among the notable nominees are “Jurassic World Rebirth,” “The Wild Robot,” and “Wicked” in the feature film category. On the television front, popular shows like “Abbott Elementary,” “The Simpsons,” “Alien: Earth,” “Yellowstone,” “Paradise,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “The Daily Show” have also received nominations.

The awards will be co-hosted by Ariana Madix, host of “Love Island USA,” and Harry Jowsey, star of Netflix’s “Too Hot to Handle” and host of the “Boyfriend Material” podcast. Madix expressed her excitement about raising awareness for projects that promote sustainability, stating that it is an honor to be a part of an event that highlights initiatives aimed at saving the planet. Jowsey also shared his enthusiasm for celebrating important causes and learning from the impactful projects being recognized at the awards ceremony.

The EMAs recognize film and television productions that excel in environmental storytelling and sustainable production practices. The focus is on narratives that inspire action towards climate change and environmental conservation. Awards are presented in various categories such as feature film, documentary film, documentary series, reality series, children’s series, drama series, variety series, and student film.

Expected attendees at the event include EMA board members like Malin Åkerman, Madelaine Petsch, Wendie Malick, Brie Garcia, Nikki Garcia, and Emmanuelle Chriqui. Additionally, celebrities like Kathy Griffin, Selma Blair, Jenna Dewan, and Caylee Cowan, the EMA Young Hollywood Board Chair, will also be present. Lance Bass, EMA Executive Board Co-Chair, will serve as the gala’s first celebrity executive producer.

The Environmental Media Awards will take place on October 11 at the Radford Studio Center in Los Angeles. The nominees span across various categories, including feature film, documentary film, comedy series, documentary series, reality series, children’s series, drama series, and variety series.

In collaboration with the Green Film School Alliance, the EMA Student Film nominees include “Patchwork In Progress” from Cal State Long Beach, “NISHI-” from IAFM – Eco Film Lab Residency, and “Ashes to the Eyes” from The City College of New York.

The Environmental Media Awards aim to celebrate and honor projects that advocate for environmental awareness and sustainability, showcasing the power of media in driving positive change for the planet.
