Justin Hartley on Bride Hard and Tracker Season 3
Justin Hartley, known for his role as Colter Shaw in the hit CBS series “Tracker,” recently teased what fans can expect from his character in the upcoming Season 3. Speaking to Variety at the premiere of his new movie “Bride Hard” in Los Angeles, Hartley hinted at delving into the mysterious background of Colter’s character.
“I know we’ll get to the nitty-gritty of why my mother hired this guy,” Hartley shared. “Was she protecting her kids? Was an affair happening? Was the government involved? It seems like this divide-and-conquer thing that she’s doing. There’s some deep psychosis there. We’ll unpack that.”
Hartley expressed his admiration for the enigmatic nature of Colter, stating, “One of the things I love about our show is it seems like every time we answer a question, there are five more questions. It’s almost like he’s getting deeper and deeper. I really enjoy that about our show.”
The new season of “Tracker” is scheduled to begin shooting in July, promising more twists and turns for Colter Shaw and his investigative journey.
In “Bride Hard,” Hartley stars alongside Rebel Wilson as the groom’s best man, Chris, who finds himself entangled in a wedding crash orchestrated by mercenaries. Wilson plays a secret agent, Sam, whose cover is blown during the chaotic events. The film also features a talented cast including Anna Camp, Anna Chlumsky, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Gigi Zumbado, and Stephen Dorff.
For Hartley, the opportunity to portray a character different from his usual roles was appealing. “I thought it was so interesting because he’s such a worm and a buffoon,” he shared. “To play something that I’ve never intentionally done before was fun for me.”
Praising Wilson’s dedication to the stunt work in the film, Hartley highlighted her skills during their fight scene. “She did all of the hard work,” he said. “She did a good job of not cracking me, but she never did.”
Other cast members, such as Sherry Cola, also commended Wilson’s portrayal of an action hero. “Women can do it all. We can save the day. We can prove people wrong and break stereotypes,” Cola remarked. “With Rebel, she’s built such an exceptional career. I’m so excited for people to see her in this way.”
Director Simon West added his praise for Wilson’s action sequences, describing her style as “John Wick on steroids.” He noted, “She threw herself into it. She’s a tough girl, and she wanted to do the action as much as she could herself. She’s a crazy fighter, and she seemed to love it.”
As fans eagerly anticipate the return of “Tracker” for Season 3 and enjoy Hartley’s performance in “Bride Hard,” it’s clear that both projects showcase the actor’s versatility and commitment to delivering captivating storytelling on screen.
