Kai Trump Gets Rare Exemption To Play In Prestigious Golf Tournament

Kai Trump, the granddaughter of President Donald Trump, is set to make her LPGA Tour debut next month at The Annika at Pelican Golf Club. The event, scheduled for Nov. 13-16, is known for attracting a strong field of competitors and will provide Kai with the opportunity to fulfill her dream of competing on the LPGA Tour.

Currently a senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach County, Kai has already committed to playing college golf for the University of Miami next year. Despite her young age, she has been actively participating in amateur golf events both nationally and locally, showcasing her talent and passion for the sport.

Ranked at No. 461 in the AJGA Girls ranking, Kai has been making a name for herself not only on the golf course but also on social media, where she has a significant following. In addition to her golf pursuits, Kai has also launched an apparel and lifestyle brand aimed at empowering young women in sports.

The decision to grant Kai a sponsor exemption for The Annika reflects the LPGA’s commitment to spotlighting emerging talent and attracting new audiences to the sport. Ricki Lasky, the chief tour business and operations officer at the LPGA, emphasized the importance of sponsor invitations in showcasing young players like Kai and introducing golf to a wider audience.

The Annika tournament has also announced the participation of WNBA star Caitlin Clark in the pro-am event on Nov. 12, further adding to the excitement surrounding the competition. Nelly Korda, the defending champion, will be looking to defend her title against a competitive field of players.
