Kanye West planned to strip his 57 million dollar mansion of everything during Kim K divorce

Kanye West’s Malibu Mansion Remodel: Off-Grid Shelter Plans Revealed

Kanye West’s recent legal battle has shed light on his ambitious plans for his Malibu mansion post his divorce from Kim Kardashian. The rapper, who purchased the $57 million property in September 2021, envisioned it as an off-grid shelter for himself and his family, according to court proceedings.

In a downtown LA courtroom, West’s attorney, Andrew Cherkasky, disclosed that the Grammy winner wanted the seaside retreat to be stripped of all modern amenities, including electricity, toilets, fireplaces, and plumbing. He emphasized West’s desire for a minimalist lifestyle, akin to anyone dreaming of living on the Pacific Ocean. Cherkasky highlighted that West even wrote a song titled “Off The Grid” on an album dedicated to his late mother, underscoring his vision for the property.

The legal dispute revolves around a construction worker, Tony Saxon, who alleges unpaid wages, unsafe working conditions, and wrongful termination during the tumultuous renovation of the beachfront mansion. Saxon was hired to manage, secure, and reside in the property while overseeing its transformation, which involved significant alterations to its original design.

When the mansion was listed for sale in 2024, it lacked essential utilities such as electricity, plumbing, windows, and interior finishes, reflecting the extent of the remodeling undertaken by West. Saxon is scheduled to testify in court, seeking over $1 million in compensation from the rapper.

West’s spokesperson, Milo Yiannopoulos, refuted Saxon’s claims, portraying him as an independent contractor operating without proper licensing and safety protocols. Both West and his wife, Bianca Censori, are expected to testify in the ongoing legal proceedings, shedding further light on the controversial renovation project.

The saga surrounding Kanye West’s Malibu mansion showcases the complexities of high-profile real estate ventures and the challenges that can arise during extensive remodeling projects. As the legal battle unfolds, it offers a glimpse into the rapper’s unconventional vision for a secluded, off-grid sanctuary by the Pacific Ocean.
