Kiefer Sutherland Arrested After Allegedly Assault of Rideshare Driver

Kiefer Sutherland, best known for his role as Jack Bauer on the hit TV series “24,” was arrested in the early hours of Monday following an alleged altercation with a Hollywood ride-share driver. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call about an assault involving a rideshare driver near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. It was determined that Sutherland had entered a rideshare vehicle, assaulted the driver, and made criminal threats towards them. Fortunately, the driver did not sustain any injuries that required immediate medical attention. Sutherland was arrested for making criminal threats, a violation of California Penal Code section 422. The Hollywood Division detectives are currently investigating the incident.

Sutherland’s representatives have not yet responded to requests for comment from Variety. He was released on a $50,000 bond later on Monday morning, with his initial court date scheduled for February 2nd.

The son of actress Shirley Douglas and the late actor Donald Sutherland, Kiefer Sutherland made his mark in Hollywood with roles in films like “Stand By Me,” “The Lost Boys,” and “A Few Good Men.” However, it was his portrayal of counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer in “24” that truly solidified his place in television history. The show won numerous awards during its run, including two Emmys for Sutherland’s performance. In 2012, “24” was rebooted into a 12-episode mini-series titled “24: Live Another Day.”

In recent years, Sutherland has continued to work on various film projects, including “Tinsel Town,” “Stone Cold Fox,” “Juror #2,” and “They Cloned Tyrone.”

Overall, Kiefer Sutherland’s career has been marked by memorable performances and critical acclaim. Despite this recent incident, he remains a respected figure in the entertainment industry.
