Kouri Richins’ mom’s lesbian lover also died of ‘suspicious’ overdose — and was found foaming at the mouth

The Dark Past of Kouri Richins: A Tale of Suspicious Deaths and Betrayal

In a shocking turn of events, the recent conviction of Kouri Richins for the murder of her husband has unearthed a dark past filled with suspicious deaths and betrayal. The story begins nearly 20 years ago when the lesbian lover of Richins’ mother, Lisa Darden, was found dead and foaming at the mouth in what was deemed a “suspicious overdose.”

According to reports, authorities in Richins’ Utah case discovered that Darden was previously investigated in 2006 for possible involvement in the death of her lover, Gertrude Moore. This revelation led investigators to delve deeper into whether Darden may have played a role in her daughter’s heinous crime.

Richins, 35, was convicted of slipping a lethal dose of fentanyl into her husband Eric’s drink as part of a plot to inherit his $4 million estate and run away with her handyman lover. The circumstances surrounding Eric’s death bore striking similarities to Moore’s demise, prompting Detective Jeff O’Driscoll to explore the connection between the two cases.

Authorities noted that Darden, who was named as the beneficiary of Moore’s estate shortly before her death, had a close proximity to both suspicious deaths. Detective O’Driscoll raised concerns about Darden’s involvement in planning and orchestrating Eric’s death, given the circumstances surrounding Moore’s demise.

Furthermore, since Moore was actively addicted to oxycodone, the possibility of an accidental overdose was ruled out, adding another layer of suspicion to the case.

Despite a search of Darden’s home in Francis, Utah, no evidence linking her to the recent crime was found. Darden was never charged in either case and is not accused of any wrongdoing.

Notably, Richins wrote a children’s book on grief about a year after her husband’s death. She appeared on local TV and radio stations to promote the self-published book titled “Are You With Me?” which she claimed was written to help her three boys understand loss. However, her arrest for murder months later cast a dark shadow over her seemingly altruistic intentions.
