Don’t worry, doughnuts to the rescue!

From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Krispy Kreme will be giving out one free original glazed doughnut to each customer “because some days require a sweet backup plan you can depend on.”

The doughnut giant’s clever marketing move, hailed as “genius” by fans online, coincides with the nationwide Verizon network outage that left tens of thousands of users offline on Wednesday.

The disruption, affecting cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, and Washington, DC, began shortly after 9 a.m. EST and quickly spread across the country.

According to Downdetector, many customers experienced complete signal loss, dropped or poor-quality calls, and non-functional data connections.

Verizon acknowledged the outage and stated that its engineers were “working to identify and resolve the issue promptly” in a brief message to The Post.

“We understand the importance of reliable connectivity and apologize for the inconvenience,” said a Verizon spokesperson.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Verizon has not disclosed the cause or timeline for full service restoration. Some users reported a return of service, while others were still waiting.

T-Mobile, one of Verizon’s main competitors, took a jab at the network’s breakdown.

“T-Mobile’s network is keeping our customers connected, and we’ve confirmed that our network is operating normally and as expected. However, due to Verizon’s reported outage, our customers may not be able to reach someone with Verizon service at this time,” the company posted on X.
