Kristi Noem Episode Most Viewers Since 2018
South Park Continues to Dominate with Season 27 Episode 2
South Park’s latest episode, “Got a Nut,” has been a massive success, drawing in 6.2 million global multiplatform viewers in its first three days of release. This is a significant increase from the show’s highly anticipated season premiere. The viewership numbers were recorded over the period of August 6 to August 8 and include viewers from Paramount+ and Comedy Central.
The show has also been performing exceptionally well in linear ratings, achieving its highest live+3 rating for Comedy Central since 2018. According to the network, the most recent episode garnered the largest young adult viewership share in South Park’s history.
In terms of demographics, Season 27, Episode 2 of South Park received a 1.531 rating in adults 18-49 (live+3), marking a 54% increase from the season premiere. The adults 18-49 share also saw a significant rise, jumping 70% from the premiere episode.
On Comedy Central, South Park averaged 1.56 million total viewers in live+3, a 46% increase from the season premiere’s viewership numbers. The show easily claimed the top spot as the No. 1 telecast on cable on August 6 and ranked as the second most-watched program across all TV, only behind CBS’ Big Brother.
The second episode of Season 27 tackled controversial topics such as United States Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem’s actions and a satirical take on Mar-a-Lago with Donald Trump. The show’s humor and social commentary drew attention from viewers and even sparked criticism from Noem herself.
Despite the backlash, South Park remained unapologetic, even releasing a post-credits scene that addressed the controversy. The episode’s ratings saw a significant boost despite the show taking an extra week’s break between episodes.
To celebrate South Park’s legacy, Comedy Central will air the show’s very first episode, “Cartman Gets an Anal Probe,” on South Park Day. Fans can look forward to a new episode returning on August 20, continuing the show’s streak of success and relevance in the ever-changing landscape of television.
