Kroger to name former Walmart exec Greg Foran as next CEO: report
Grocery Giant Kroger Set to Appoint Greg Foran as CEO
According to sources familiar with the matter, grocery giant Kroger is planning to hire Greg Foran as its new chief executive officer. Foran, who previously led an airline and Walmart’s US unit, is expected to be announced as the CEO as soon as Monday, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.
Kroger has been on the lookout for a permanent CEO since Rodney McMullen was removed from the position last year following findings from a board investigation regarding his personal conduct.
Greg Foran, a New Zealand-born executive, most recently served as the CEO of Air New Zealand, where he navigated the company through various challenges, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Foran’s prior experience includes a successful tenure as the head of Walmart’s US operations, where he implemented strategies that led to significant growth in sales and performance.
After the departure of Rodney McMullen, Kroger’s board appointed Ronald Sargent as interim CEO. The company is now gearing up to formally announce Greg Foran as its new CEO.
