KSI Making Docuseries About Takeover of Dagenham & Redbridge FC

British YouTuber KSI is following in the footsteps of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney by embarking on a new venture in the world of soccer. Recently, the influencer and “Britain’s Got Talent” judge, whose real name is Olajide Olatunji, acquired a minority stake in Dagenham & Redbridge, a struggling lower league U.K. soccer club.

In collaboration with production company After Party Studios, KSI is set to produce a docuseries titled “Race to the Top,” mirroring the successful format of Reynolds and McElhenney’s “Welcome to Wrexham” documentary. The series will document KSI’s journey as he takes over the club and aims to propel it to the Premier League.

Scheduled to premiere on KSI’s YouTube channel, which boasts an impressive 17 million subscribers, “Race to the Top” will offer viewers an inside look at the challenges and triumphs of managing a non-league soccer team. The series will be translated into 14 languages and will extend into the 26/27 season, showcasing KSI’s efforts to revamp Dagenham & Redbridge.

Director Ben Doyle, also known as RVBBERDUCK, who previously worked on KSI’s documentary “KSI: Can’t Lose,” expressed his enthusiasm for this new project. KSI himself shared his excitement, stating that this opportunity is a significant moment for him and his fans. The series will provide unprecedented access to the club’s operations, including boardroom meetings and fan interactions.

“Race to the Top” is a collaborative effort between After Party Studios, KSI, and Mo Syed, head of content for KSI. Executive producers Jamie MacDonald and James Byfield are also involved in the production of the series. Filming has already begun and will capture KSI’s first experiences as a club owner during an upcoming game against Dorking Wanderers.
