LA prosecutors reviewing Kiefer Sutherland’s alleged assault case

Los Angeles prosecutors are currently reviewing the case of actor Kiefer Sutherland, who has been accused of assaulting a ride-share driver in Hollywood. The incident reportedly took place earlier this month, and the LA County District Attorney’s Office has been presented with the case for potential criminal charges against the “24” star.

It is not yet clear how long the DA’s office has to complete the review process. Sutherland, who is 59 years old, told authorities that he had called for an Uber Black after having dinner with a friend on the evening of January 11. He requested the driver to take him home.

During the ride, Sutherland allegedly asked the driver to pull over and let him out, threatening to kill him if he did not comply. The driver then called 911 around 12:15 a.m. and reported that he had been assaulted by Sutherland near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.

Following the report, police arrived at the scene and determined that Sutherland had physically assaulted the driver and made criminal threats towards him. As a result, the actor was arrested on felony charges of making a criminal threat and was later released on $50,000 bail.

Sutherland is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on February 2nd. The case is now under review by Los Angeles prosecutors, who will decide whether to pursue criminal charges against the actor.
