Lady Gaga, Prince Photos to Be Auctioned for Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood

Milk Studios’ PHOTO25 auction features striking photos of iconic celebrities like Lady Gaga, Robert Redford, and Prince. The photo of Lady Gaga, titled “Disco Stick,” was captured by Tyler Curtis during an appearance at Chicago’s Manor Nightclub in 2008, with an opening bid of $800. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood.

Greg Gorman’s photo of Robert Redford, taken at Sydney Pollack’s home for Time magazine in 1986, is also up for auction. Additionally, Randee St. Nicholas’ image of Prince sleeping on a train in Japan in 1992 is available for bidding. Interestingly, Prince’s managers abruptly ended the shoot and sent St. Nicholas home in the middle of the night due to budget constraints.

Bids for these exclusive photographs can be placed on artsy.net, with a VIP viewing scheduled for December 9 at Milk Studios LA in Los Angeles. The live auction will commence at 7:30 p.m., following the doors opening at 6 p.m. Tickets for the event can be purchased on givebutter.com.

In addition to Lady Gaga, Redford, and Prince, the auction includes photos of other notable figures such as Dolly Parton, David Bowie, Dennis Hopper, Divine, David Lynch, Deborah Harry, and David Hockney. A black-and-white shot of Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta on the set of “Grease” is also part of the collection.

The PHOTO auction series has been running for almost a decade, with proceeds benefiting various charitable organizations like STORIES: The Foundation for the AIDS Monument and Project Angel Food. The Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood, which has been serving youth in the area for 85 years, will receive the proceeds from this year’s auction. The club offers enrichment programs in literacy, academics, leadership skills, health and wellness, sports, computer proficiency, and music and arts.

Don’t miss this opportunity to own a piece of iconic celebrity photography while supporting a good cause. Visit artsy.net to place your bids and secure your spot at the VIP viewing event at Milk Studios LA.
