Paramount+ Renews “Landman” for Season 3
Exciting news for fans of the hit oil industry drama “Landman” – Paramount+ has officially renewed the show for a third season, as reported by Variety. This announcement comes at a time when the second season of the series has only just begun airing, with the fourth episode set to premiere on December 7.
“Landman” takes viewers deep into the world of the oil industry in west Texas, following the journey of oil company fixer and president Tommy Norris, portrayed by the talented Billy Bob Thornton. The show explores the challenges and complexities of the business, as well as the personal struggles faced by Tommy as he tries to balance his professional responsibilities with his family life.
In addition to Thornton, the stellar cast of “Landman” includes Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Sam Elliott, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore.
The official logline for Season 2 teases an intense storyline for Tommy Norris, stating, “As oil rises from the earth, so do secrets – and Tommy Norris’s breaking point may be closer than he realizes. Facing mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller, and the shadow of his kin, survival in West Texas isn’t noble – it’s brutal. And sooner or later something’s got to break.”
With impressive viewership numbers, the season premiere of “Landman” saw a significant increase in viewership, drawing in 9.2 million viewers in its first two days of availability, marking a 262% increase over the series premiere.
The series was co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, who also serve as executive producers alongside a talented team including David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, and Stephen Kay. The show is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions, with Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly also contributing to its production.
