Lebanese Comic John Achkar’s Show at L’Olympia Set for TV Special

Front Row Filmed Entertainment, a Dubai-based distributor and producer, is making a foray into the world of comedy content with a new TV special featuring prominent Lebanese comedian John Achkar. The special will cover Achkar’s upcoming stand-up comedy show titled “Tryin’” (“Aam Jarrib”) at the iconic L’Olympia concert hall in Paris.

Achkar’s performance at L’Olympia on October 23 will be a historic moment as it will be the first time an Arabic-language comedian takes the stage at this legendary venue. L’Olympia has previously hosted comedy greats like Chris Rock, Gad Elmaleh, and Eddie Izzard.

In his show “Tryin’,” Achkar adopts an unfiltered and fast-paced approach, delving into the humor and challenges of modern Arab life. The performance, which is delivered in Arabic, resonates with both those who have stayed in their homeland and those who have ventured out into the diaspora.

Front Row has been producing Achkar’s stand-up comedy tour, which has seen sold-out shows in 75 cities worldwide, including Arab cities like Beirut, Riyadh, Dubai, and Cairo, as well as international locations such as San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and London.

The production company is currently in talks with a global streaming platform for a planned 2026 release of the “Tryin” special. This show will be the first of a series of six Arabic stand-up comedy titles currently in development, with more details about the other comedians to be revealed in the future.

CEO Gianluca Chakra of Front Row emphasized the diversity within the Middle Eastern audience, noting that the region comprises a mosaic of countries, cultures, and dialects. He praised Achkar for successfully connecting with audiences across different backgrounds through his authentic and universal comedy.
