Lola Petticrew, Scoot McNairy Join Liz Meriwether Hulu Series

Liz Meriwether, the creator of the hit show “New Girl,” has made some exciting casting announcements for her upcoming Hulu series. According to Variety, Lola Petticrew and Scott McNairy have been tapped to star in the untitled series, which is loosely based on the 1987 movie “Black Widow.” Emmy Rossum is also set to star in the drama, with Brian Kirk on board as director and executive producer.

The show’s official logline reveals that the story follows an FBI agent who uses the secrets from a female serial killer’s past to track her down. Rossum will play the FBI agent, while Petticrew will portray Catherine, a killer with a complicated past targeting wealthy men and evading the NYPD and FBI. McNairy will take on the role of Danny, an NYPD Homicide Detective who is described as sharp, tired, and emotionally complex.

Meriwether will not only serve as the writer but also as an executive producer on the show. Rossum will executive produce through her Composition 8 banner, alongside Sara Moskowitz. Ron Bass, the screenwriter of “Black Widow,” will also serve as an executive producer. Kirk is set to direct the first two episodes and executive produce as well. The series will be produced by 20th Television and Searchlight TV.

Petticrew is known for her work in the FX/Hulu series “Say Nothing” and has appeared in other TV shows and films like “Bloodlands,” “Anne Boleyn,” “Dating Amber,” and “A Bump Along the Way.” McNairy, on the other hand, recently portrayed Woody Guthrie in the Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown” and has an impressive resume that includes films like “Argo,” “12 Years a Slave,” and “Gone Girl.”

Petticrew is represented by Hamilton Hodell, Range Media Partners, CAA, and Shelter PR, while McNairy is represented by UTA and The Group Management. Kirk is represented by UTA, Untitled Entertainment, Independent Talent, and Gang Tyre.

With such a talented cast and crew attached to the project, this Hulu series is definitely one to keep an eye out for. Stay tuned for more updates on this thrilling new show!
