Long Island sicko, 18, allegedly raped two 11-year-old boys he met on Snapchat, brushed off abuse as a prank: DA

An 18-year-old Long Island man, Bradley Schioppa, has been accused of raping two 11-year-old boys he met on Snapchat, according to prosecutors. Using the username “paxonhotsg5,” Schioppa joined a Snapchat group chat for 11-year-old boys in the Smithtown area in April, posing as someone their age. The boys did not suspect his true age until he began showing up in person at places they gathered, like Robert A. Brady Park in Smithtown.

During their encounters, Schioppa allegedly sexually abused one boy in a park bathroom and the other in a CVS restroom, framing the abuse as a prank or dare that the boys would be paid for. The abuse came to light in May 2025 when one boy’s mother discovered messages between Schioppa and her son. Upon questioning, the boy revealed the abuse, leading to Schioppa’s arrest on May 21.

Schioppa has been charged with first-degree rape, second-degree sexual abuse, and endangering the welfare of a child. He appeared in court and was ordered held on a high bond. If convicted, he could face up to 25 years in prison. District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney emphasized the seriousness of the charges, stating that protecting children is a top priority.

Authorities are now investigating whether Schioppa may have other victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Those who may have communicated with Schioppa on Snapchat or otherwise are encouraged to contact the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office or the Suffolk County Police Department Special Victims Section.

The case highlights the dangers of online interactions and the importance of vigilant monitoring of children’s online activities. It serves as a reminder to parents to be aware of who their children are communicating with and to report any suspicious behavior immediately.
