Looki L1 AI Pendant Hands-on: Ridiculous, But I Kind Of Love It

The Looki L1 is a fascinating wearable device that caught my attention at CES 2026. Shaped like a unique Pokémon, this tiny camera is worn around the neck and offers AI assistance while also providing feedback on your daily activities. I decided to put the L1 to the test by wearing it for a full day at the show, and here’s how it performed in Las Vegas.

Photo and video quality with the Looki L1 is a bit of a mixed bag. While it boasts the capability to shoot 1080p videos and take photos at the same resolution, the results can vary significantly. Outdoor footage looked surprisingly good, but indoor shots tended to be grainy, reminiscent of HD webcams. Additionally, the battery life is a consideration, as continuous video recording can drain it quickly.

The AI assistant on the Looki L1 reminded me of the controversial Humane AI Pin, offering tracking capabilities and answering questions when prompted. While it struggled in noisy environments like the CES show floor, it generally performed adequately and without the expensive subscription fees associated with similar devices.

One of the standout features of the Looki L1 is its ability to create a personalized comic strip based on your day’s experiences. While this feature exists, it can be a bit complex to navigate, requiring a certain number of photos and videos to generate a comic effectively.

Despite its flaws, the novelty of the Looki L1 is appealing, especially for vloggers looking for a unique perspective on their day. While it may not match the quality of most smartphones, its convenience and AI features make it a compelling option for some users. Priced at $199, the Looki L1 is available for purchase on the company’s website.

While the Looki L1 may not be a standout product at CES, it offers a fun and innovative way to capture and document your daily experiences.
