For five days, the historic town of Lucca in Tuscany transforms into a Cosplay Mecca, attracting over 300,000 visitors with a plethora of events including book signings, screenings, exhibitions, and concerts. Through the metaphor of the Mandala, Castagna intricately weaves together the stories of organizers, artists, writers, game designers, film directors, and fans, showcasing the interconnectedness of the community.
