Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Peacock Gets Multiview Livestream
NBCUniversal is taking the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to new heights this year with the introduction of a groundbreaking feature: the ability to watch the annual programming in Peacock’s innovative Multiview option. This exciting new feature will allow viewers to experience the parade from three different camera angles, including a livestream positioned right on the main float itself.
The 99th annual parade will kick off on Nov. 27 at 8:30 a.m. in all time zones across NBC and Peacock. The event will feature a star-studded lineup, with “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo set to perform the opening number and “Today” show hosts Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Al Roker returning as hosts. Last year, the parade drew a record 31.7 million viewers, and this year promises to be even more spectacular.
Peacock subscribers will have the unique opportunity to utilize Multiview to watch the parade from three different perspectives. The Traditional Programming view will feature commentary from NBC hosts, live performances, and more. The Float View will allow viewers to ride aboard the classic Tom the Turkey float through the streets of Manhattan. And the High-Rise View will provide a bird’s eye view of all the excitement from high above the parade route.
This marks the first time that Peacock has offered Multiview for a live entertainment special. The feature was previously launched for the 2024 Paris Olympics, where it was a huge success. It will also be available for the upcoming 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.
In addition to Cynthia Erivo, this year’s parade will feature performances from a diverse lineup of artists, including EJAE, Audrey Nuna, REI AMI, and many more. The parade will also showcase the casts of Broadway’s “Buena Vista Social Club,” “Just in Time,” and “Ragtime,” as well as the iconic Radio City Rockettes.
“We are thrilled to bring Multiview to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, giving fans the opportunity to experience the parade like never before,” said Matt Strauss, Chairman of NBCUniversal Media Group. “We are constantly striving to enhance our viewers’ experience and deliver unique viewing options, and Multiview is a perfect example of that.”
This year, NBCUniversal has seen a nearly 20% increase in overall holiday advertiser spending, with more demand from tech, pharma, insurance, and restaurants. The company is also introducing new ad innovations, such as shoppable ad options and virtual concessions during holiday classics programming.
“NBCUniversal is the go-to destination for holiday audiences, and this year we are seeing unprecedented engagement from advertisers,” said Alison Levin, President of Advertising & Partnership at NBCUniversal. “With our diverse content offerings and innovative ad solutions, we are helping brands connect with consumers during the most important season of the year.”
Don’t miss out on the excitement of the 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, streaming live on NBC and Peacock. With the new Multiview feature, you can experience the parade like never before and create lasting memories with your family and friends.
