Major RAW star was convinced to join WWE over AEW
A prominent WWE RAW superstar recently disclosed that he was swayed to sign with WWE instead of opting for All Elite Wrestling. The wrestling promotion is gearing up for Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend in Tampa, Florida.
During an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Karrion Kross revealed that he had discussions with AEW after his release in 2021. At the time, Cody Rhodes was still associated with AEW, and Kross mentioned that he had talks with The American Nightmare. However, those discussions didn’t progress, and he ultimately chose to return to WWE after receiving a call from Triple H.
In Kross’s own words, “The communication just organically fell off with Cody and me at the time, and in the process of communicating with him when he was there, Hunter had called me and I was like, ‘We’re turning right, we’re going next lane, boom.”
Karrion Kross also revealed that not everyone backstage at WWE was pleased following his viral outburst at WrestleMania 41 in his conversation with Ariel Helwani.
Former WWE writer Vince Russo suggested that Karrion Kross’ rant at WrestleMania 41 should have taken place on an episode of WWE RAW. Russo believed that the former NXT Champion should have confronted Triple H live on television, creating a compelling storyline.
Karrion Kross, a former NXT Champion, has yet to clinch a title on WWE’s main roster. It will be intriguing to see what lies ahead for the seasoned performer on RAW.
