Male bus driver who goes by ‘Ms Sharon’ charged with sexually abusing multiple boys

A 48-year-old school bus driver in North Carolina, Leetwain Darrell Tate, who goes by the name “Ms. Sharon,” has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting several boys he lured to his house. Tate faces charges of two counts of statutory rape and six counts of indecent liberties with a minor, according to Charlotte-Mecklenberg police.

The victims, boys aged 14 and 15, were found to be staying at Tate’s house. One of the boys claimed that Tate offered him money in exchange for sex, as per an arrest affidavit obtained by WCNC. Tate worked as a school bus driver for Sugar Creek Charter School in Charlotte but was suspended during the investigation and ultimately fired on September 30.

The alleged crimes did not take place on school property or during Tate’s bus route. Despite his family’s insistence on his innocence, Tate is currently being held at the Mecklenburg County Jail on a $1 million bond. Neighbors have expressed shock and disturbance over the allegations, with one neighbor, Tony Sanders, telling WCNC, “It’s pretty disturbing that it is so close to home and you are just shocked. To me, it’s a shame. Fourteen, 15 years old can be so impressionable at that age. To think someone would take advantage of that is very alarming.”

The case has raised concerns about child safety and the vulnerability of teenagers to exploitation. The community is reeling from the news of the allegations against Tate and is calling for justice for the victims. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to ensure that all victims receive the support and protection they need.
