Man charged with attempted murder after ‘unprovoked’ Chinatown stabbing caught on video
A shocking incident occurred in San Francisco’s Chinatown on March 5, when a man allegedly stabbed a victim in the back without any provocation. The suspect, Jian Feng Huang, 37, has been charged with attempted murder for the brazen attack near Stockton and Sacramento streets, as reported by the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.
Witnesses at the scene described how Huang approached the victim from behind and plunged a knife into his back before fleeing the scene, leaving the victim bleeding on the ground. Surveillance footage from nearby businesses confirmed the chilling account, showing Huang attacking the victim without any prior interaction.
Surprisingly, it was revealed that the victim and the suspect were known to each other, adding a layer of complexity to the case. Huang is facing attempted murder charges, with allegations of personally using a deadly weapon and inflicting serious bodily harm on the victim.
San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins wasted no time in ensuring that Huang was taken off the streets. Jenkins announced that Huang is currently in custody, held without bail, while the victim is in the hospital recovering from severe injuries. Huang is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on Tuesday morning at the Hall of Justice.
The swift actions of law enforcement and the district attorney’s office have brought some sense of justice to the victim and the community. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of public safety and the need to address violence in our communities.
