Man robbed at gunpoint after being forced into SUV near River North nightclub
Police in River North are currently investigating a terrifying incident in which a 29-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint after being forced into an SUV outside a popular nightclub in the area. The victim reported that he was outside in the 200 block of West Ontario Street when two men emerged from a dark-colored SUV and approached him around 4:45 a.m. The suspects then coerced the victim into the vehicle, displaying a firearm and demanding his personal belongings.
The perpetrators then drove a short distance to the 300 block of West Illinois Street, where they released the victim unharmed. The victim, who had been outside Sound-Bar nightclub, described the robbers as two Black men dressed in black clothing and ski masks. Investigators are currently looking into the possibility that the vehicle used in the crime was a black Hyundai Santa Fe.
