Man stabbed during clash inside Times Square McDonald’s – third knifing near tourist hub in a week
A violent incident occurred in Times Square as a 27-year-old man was stabbed during a heated clash inside a McDonald’s in the early hours of Tuesday morning. This marks the third stabbing incident near the popular tourist hub in just one week, according to authorities and sources.
The victim was attacked by an apparent stranger who stabbed him in the stomach around 5:55 a.m. inside the fast food joint on Broadway near West 45th Street. The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital and is currently in stable condition, as confirmed by the police.
Reports suggest that the victim was involved in a dispute with two men, one of whom was the assailant responsible for the stabbing. Both attackers fled the scene after the altercation, leaving the victim injured.
This incident comes on the heels of two other recent stabbings in the area. Just two days prior, another man was stabbed in the leg during a fight in front of a Starbucks on Broadway near West 39th Street. Additionally, last Wednesday, a 30-year-old man was slashed in the face and stabbed in the back by a group of individuals on Broadway near West 39th Street.
Data from the NYPD indicates that there have been 23 felony assaults reported in the Midtown South precinct, which includes Times Square, so far this year. This number is on par with last year’s total during the same period, highlighting the concerning trend of violence in the area.
The string of violent incidents in Times Square has raised concerns about safety and security in the bustling tourist destination. Authorities are working to address the issue and ensure the safety of residents and visitors in the area.
