A Chicago Man Arrested for Federal Drug Distribution

A Chicago man, known as “Kevo,” is facing a federal drug distribution charge for allegedly selling fentanyl and heroin to an undercover agent in various locations in Chicago. Kevin McMullen, 37, has been charged with distributing 40 grams or more of fentanyl, a Schedule II controlled substance.

Chronology of Events

The investigation began in July 2025 when an informant alerted the FBI about McMullen’s attempts to sell drugs through Facebook. McMullen, who mentioned being on probation or parole, started selling drugs to an undercover agent in August of the same year.

The first transaction took place in August, where McMullen sold nearly 50 grams of fentanyl hidden in his car’s navigation system for $3,000. Subsequent deals occurred in September, October, and January, with varying quantities of drugs exchanged for money.

Covert Operations

All transactions were recorded using covert audio and video equipment. McMullen’s identity was confirmed by matching his Illinois driver’s license photo to footage captured during the deals.

Despite the arrests and charges, the case highlights the ongoing battle against drug distribution in Chicago and the importance of undercover operations in apprehending offenders.
