Maniac shoves 58-year-old straphanger onto NYC subway tracks during random attack: cops
A disturbing incident occurred last month at the Lafayette Avenue subway station in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, where a 58-year-old homeless woman was pushed onto the train tracks by an unknown assailant. The victim, who was waiting for a Manhattan-bound C train, was taken by surprise when the attacker approached her from behind and forcefully shoved her onto the tracks around 10 p.m. on January 8th.
Fortunately, a group of quick-thinking bystanders came to the woman’s rescue, pulling her back onto the platform just moments before a train arrived. The victim, who sustained minor injuries in the fall, was subsequently transported to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale Hospital Medical Center for treatment.
Despite efforts by law enforcement to apprehend the suspect, the assailant managed to flee the scene and remains at large. In an effort to track down the perpetrator, the NYPD released surveillance footage showing the suspect pacing back and forth on the subway platform.
