Mary Tyler Moore Auction Includes ‘The Dick Van Dyke Show’ Memorabilia

Doyle Auctioneers and Appraisers is currently hosting an auction for The Mary Tyler Moore collection, which includes items and memorabilia from “The Dick Van Dyke Show.” The collection consists of nearly 300 pieces of artwork, memorabilia, and decorative objects from Moore’s home in Greenwich, Conn.

The auction will feature select items on display at Doyle Beverly Hills from May 16-20 and at Doyle New York starting May 30, leading up to a live auction on Wednesday, June 4. Some of the highlighted items in the collection include Al Hirschfeld’s drawings of Moore’s roles in “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” an unused ticket for the 1977 “Mary Tyler Moore” finale “The Last Show,” a rare Polaroid by Annie Leibovitz featuring Moore and Van Dyke, the iconic wall-mounted “M” from Moore’s on-screen apartment, and portraits by renowned artists such as Peter Max and Everett Raymond Kinstler.

Throughout her illustrious career, Mary Tyler Moore garnered numerous accolades, including seven Primetime Emmy awards, three Golden Globes, and a Tony award. She was also nominated for an Oscar for her role in “Ordinary People.” In “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” Moore portrayed Mary Richards, a single working woman who became a symbol of women’s independence. The show addressed important social issues such as divorce, gay rights, premarital sex, and infertility.
