McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski mocked over Big Arch tasting video
The CEO of McDonald’s faced widespread ridicule on social media after sharing a video of himself struggling to eat a new oversized menu item, which he awkwardly referred to as a “product” at the fast-food chain.
The viral video posted on social media last month featured McDonald’s CEO and Chairman Chris Kempczinski begrudgingly trying the upcoming “Big Arch” burger set to launch in the US on Tuesday.
“I absolutely love this product, it’s amazing. I’m going to taste it right now but I’m also having it for lunch, just so you know,” Kempczinski shared on camera.
The “Big Arch” burger includes “two quarter-pound patties, a tasty Big Arch sauce, lettuce, crispy onions, and pickles,” the executive described.
Kempczinski then hesitated as he approached the large sandwich, admitting he “didn’t even know how to tackle it” before taking a small bite cautiously.
“Mmm, that is so good, that’s a big bite for a Big Arch,” the CEO remarked after the tiny bite, turning the burger towards the camera.
Social media users quickly poked fun at Kempczinski for his awkward interaction with the burger, questioning whether he truly enjoys eating the items from his own company.
“This man’s vibe screams kale salad,” one user quipped in response to the video on Instagram.

“This is the most awkward thing I’ve ever witnessed,” another user teased.
“Why does he look like he’s scared to take a bite?” a third person chimed in.
Several viewers noted the use of corporate jargon by the fast-food chain’s CEO in a video intended for customers.
“It’s unsettling when you refer to food as ‘product,’” one comment read.
“He definitely doesn’t eat McDonald’s,” the top-rated comment observed.
The oversized burger gained a strong following in Canadian and European markets in 2024 and was eventually added to the permanent menu in the UK and Ireland.
The new Big Arch Burger contains 1,020 calories, almost equivalent to a full Big Mac Meal — including fries and a medium Coke, according to the McDonald’s website.
