Megyn Kelly slams CNN’s Van Jones for calling Charlie Kirk ‘racist’

Megyn Kelly Calls Out Van Jones for Shifting Tone After Charlie Kirk’s Death

Megyn Kelly criticized CNN analyst Van Jones, accusing him of labeling Charlie Kirk as a “racist” just days before Kirk’s death and then changing his tune after the tragic event to save face.

Kelly responded to an essay by Jones published on CNN, where Jones shared a private message from Kirk inviting him for a conversation about crime and race the day before Kirk was killed on Sept. 10.

During her SiriusXM show, Kelly called Jones out for his behavior, stating that his recent positive comments about Kirk seemed calculated to gain favor, but she was not going to fall for it.

Kelly also recounted a time when Jones offered public support for her after she was ousted from NBC in 2018 but later withdrew his offer due to receiving death threats. She highlighted the contrast between Jones’ actions towards her and his recent shift in attitude towards Kirk.

According to Kelly, Jones initially accused Kirk of racism on CNN just two days before Kirk’s death, citing comments Kirk made about a racially motivated attack in North Carolina. Kelly criticized Jones for making such accusations without evidence and failing to retract them after Kirk’s death.

She also pointed out that Jones’ sudden change in tone following Kirk’s death seemed insincere and done to protect himself from criticism.

Kelly concluded by saying that Jones should have stayed silent instead of trying to deceive others about receiving death threats and portraying himself as a victim.

Van Jones has not responded to requests for comment on the matter.

In his essay, Jones acknowledged his disagreements with Kirk in the past but emphasized that he never questioned Kirk’s right to express his opinions. He condemned Kirk’s murder unequivocally and without reservation.
