Published
Melissa Gilbert is making a comeback to her work at Modern Prairie, her lifestyle brand, after a hiatus following her husband Timothy Busfield‘s arrest and indictment on child sex abuse charges.
In a recent video shared on Facebook, Melissa expressed that she took time off to prioritize her family and focus on what truly matters. She mentioned leaning on her loved ones during a challenging period.
Melissa expressed her gratitude towards the supportive community at Modern Prairie, the brand she co-founded in 2022 to empower women over 50. She acknowledged the women who stood by her during tough times, referring to the brand as a collective effort of women supporting each other through thick and thin.
Returning to work holds significance for Melissa as it provides her with a sense of purpose and mental clarity, especially during challenging days.
Timothy Busfield is currently facing four counts of criminal sexual contact with a child. The filmmaker was arrested a few weeks ago on charges related to child abuse and criminal sexual contact of a minor. Allegations suggest that he engaged in inappropriate behavior with two brothers aged 7 and 8 during the production of “The Cleaning Lady” between November 2022 and spring 2024.
Busfield has denied the allegations, claiming that the parents of the boys are seeking revenge after their children were removed from the show. His attorney, Larry Stein, stated that the indictment was anticipated and believes that the case lacks substantial evidence. Busfield intends to contest the charges through every legal means available.
