Melodee Buzzard’s mom allegedly held friend captive after telling him missing daughter’s whereabouts
The case of missing 9-year-old Melodee Buzzard has taken a disturbing turn with her mother, Ashlee Buzzard, facing false imprisonment charges after allegedly holding a friend hostage with a boxcutter. The friend, Tyler Brewer, came forward with accusations that Ashlee had shared information about Melodee’s whereabouts in Utah, causing her distress and regret. Despite multiple attempts to leave, Brewer was allegedly blocked by Ashlee, who displayed signs of paranoia and mental health issues.
Brewer reported the incident to authorities, expressing uncertainty about the accuracy of the information provided by Ashlee due to her troubled mental state. Ashlee’s family also raised concerns about her mental health, noting a decline following the death of Melodee’s father in 2016. Melodee was last seen near the Utah-Colorado border on October 9, with her disappearance not reported until October 14 when school officials noticed her absence from her homeschooling program.
The investigation has now escalated with federal authorities involved, focusing on Ashlee’s actions during a mysterious road trip to Nebraska with Melodee. Ashlee returned home alone on October 10, having taken precautions such as changing license plates and wearing wigs to avoid detection during the 1,500-mile journey. Security footage captures the last known images of Melodee before her disappearance, as investigators continue to search for her.
Despite efforts to locate Melodee, Ashlee remains uncooperative and has not provided any information about her daughter’s current whereabouts or condition. The case remains ongoing, with authorities working tirelessly to find answers and bring Melodee home safely.
