Meth-crazed Florida man is bitten by alligator, charges at cops with garden shears before he’s shot dead in wild series of events

A shocking and tragic incident unfolded in Lakeland, Florida, as a meth-crazed man, Timothy Schulz, found himself in a life-threatening situation. Schulz, 42, was spotted swimming in a lake known to be infested with alligators in the early hours of Monday. According to authorities, Schulz, under the influence of drugs, had initially growled at individuals attempting to help him by tossing a life vest. The situation took a terrifying turn when an alligator bit his right arm, causing him severe injury.

Despite being attacked by the alligator, Schulz emerged from the lake and proceeded to grab a pair of garden shears from a nearby residence. When law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, Schulz charged at them with the shears in a threatening manner. Despite attempts to subdue him with a stun gun, Schulz remained undeterred. He then attempted to gain access to the officers’ firearms in their patrol vehicle, prompting the deputies to take decisive action.

In a tragic turn of events, the deputies were forced to open fire on Schulz, resulting in his death. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd expressed shock at Schulz’s relentless behavior, noting that the influence of methamphetamine can drastically alter an individual’s behavior. Schulz, who had a history of drug-related offenses, had only recently been released from jail following a methamphetamine-related arrest.

The deputies involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into the incident. The sheriff emphasized the need to thoroughly examine the events leading up to the fatal shooting. The community in Lakeland was left reeling from the violent encounter that unfolded in their midst, highlighting the dangers posed by drug abuse and its potential consequences.
