The Federal Aviation Administration revealed that the midair collision involved an Enstrom F-28A helicopter and an Enstrom 280C helicopter over Hammonton Municipal Airport. Both helicopters only had the pilots on board, resulting in one fatality and the other pilot being rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Local resident Dan Dameshek recounted hearing a loud noise and witnessing the two helicopters losing control and spiraling out of the sky as he was leaving a gym.
The town of Hammonton, situated in Atlantic County, New Jersey, witnesses this tragic event. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will conduct a thorough investigation into the crash.
Alan Diehl, a former crash investigator, mentioned that the focus of the investigation will likely be on communication between the pilots and their ability to visually detect each other in the airspace.
