Mike Johnson Lays Out The Scenario That Would Sink Trump’s Presidency
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) emphasized the critical importance of the upcoming 2026 midterm elections during a recent appearance on Newsmax. He warned that if Republicans were to lose control of the House, it could spell disaster for President Donald Trump’s agenda.
Johnson expressed confidence in the GOP’s prospects in the upcoming elections but cautioned about the potential ramifications of a Democratic takeover of the House. He stated, “If we lost the midterms — heaven forbid — if we lost the majority in the House, it would be the end of the Trump presidency in real effect.”
Highlighting the need for Trump to have a full four years in office to address the challenges he inherited, Johnson urged for continued support to sustain the administration’s efforts. He remarked, “So we’ve got to keep this going.”
In addition, Johnson commended Trump’s State of the Union address, praising its content and length. He criticized Democrats for their response in the chamber, labeling it as “shameful.”
