Minneapolis shooter ‘expressed hate towards almost every group imaginable’

The motive behind the tragic mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis is still a subject of investigation, with authorities yet to pinpoint a specific trigger for the heinous act that claimed the lives of two children and left 18 others injured. The suspect, 23-year-old Robin Westman, had ties to the school as a former student, while her mother had previously worked at the parish.

According to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara, Westman harbored deep-seated hatred towards various groups and individuals, including Black people, Mexican people, Christians, Jews, and even President Donald Trump. The shooter seemed to idolize past mass shooters and had a disturbing obsession with them.

The attack, which took place outside the church building as Westman fired through narrow windows, resulted in the deaths of an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old. Fortunately, all injured victims, including 15 children, are expected to survive. Westman ultimately took her own life at the scene.

Authorities are delving into hundreds of pages of evidence, including videos and writings linked to the suspect, as they strive to uncover a motive for the senseless act. Interviews with witnesses and acquaintances of Westman have been conducted, although efforts to speak with her mother have been unsuccessful.

In the wake of the tragedy, calls for stricter gun control measures have been amplified, with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey emphasizing the need for tangible change to prevent future atrocities.
