Minneapolis shooter Robin Westman lived in quaint home in quiet neighborhood

MINNEAPOLIS — The quiet, tree-lined street in Minneapolis where Robin Westman lived seemed like the epitome of suburban tranquility. Westman’s picturesque two-story Tudor-style house, less than a mile from Annunciation Catholic Church, was the scene of a horrific tragedy where he shot 17 people, resulting in the deaths of two young children.

The house, as seen in exclusive photos obtained by The Post, sits on a shady lot with a well-maintained green lawn. Neighbor Stephen Jeglosky, who was shocked by the news of the massacre, described the Westmans as a “great family” and recalled seeing children playing in the yard.

The backyard of the home is idyllic, with an ivy-lined shed, a Japanese fountain, a blooming vegetable garden, and a firepit on a brick patio surrounded by floral-cushioned furniture and planters of pink flowers. Inside, the front living room appeared cluttered with winter coats in boxes and a typical kitchen counter with a half-filled glass of water.

Jeglosky reminisced about encountering the Westmans two years ago during what seemed to be a celebration, possibly a graduation. They had flagged him down and asked for group photos, exuding a sense of family happiness and togetherness.

The tragic events that unfolded on Wednesday morning at the local church and school, where Westman carried out the mass shooting, left the community reeling. The 23-year-old took his own life after the rampage, having attended the school as a child for a year. His mother had also worked there as a secretary for five years before retiring in 2021.

Despite the shocking nature of the incident, Minneapolis police revealed that Westman had no prior criminal history. Additionally, the three guns he used in the shooting were legally purchased, adding to the complexity of the situation.

As the community grapples with the aftermath of the tragedy, the once-peaceful neighborhood now bears the weight of sorrow and loss. The memories of the Westman family, once seen as a symbol of suburban bliss, are now tainted by the senseless violence that unfolded within their home.
