Missing Texas teen Camila Mendoza Olmos feared in ‘imminent danger’ after Christmas Eve disappearance

The disappearance of 19-year-old Camila “Cami” Mendoza Olmos from her San Antonio home on Christmas Eve has left investigators fearing that she may be in “imminent danger.” The case has taken a mysterious turn, with Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar stating that the investigation may lead them outside the United States.

Olmos was last seen outside her home in pajama shorts and a hoodie before she vanished. Authorities have been conducting round-the-clock searches for the teen, considering all possibilities, including kidnapping, human trafficking, or the chance that she left on her own accord.

Sheriff Salazar mentioned that Olmos had recently gone through a mutual breakup, but there were no suspicions of anything “nefarious” in her disappearance. Concerns about her immigration status were also addressed, confirming that she is a US citizen and not detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Surveillance footage captured Olmos rummaging through her car before she disappeared, leaving behind her car with only her keys and possibly her driver’s license. Her mother, Rosario, grew worried when she couldn’t find her daughter, who usually went for early-morning walks. Finding Olmos’ phone with a dead battery on her bed raised further concerns.

The search for Olmos has involved volunteers, police, and federal authorities like the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security. Olmos’ childhood friend, Camila Estrella, described her as someone full of love, expressing shock over her sudden disappearance.

Investigators are urging anyone with information on Olmos’ whereabouts to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office or the BCSO Missing Persons Unit. The search continues as authorities work tirelessly to bring Olmos back home safely.
