Mom, kids allegedly abducted at knifepoint by career criminal — who was out on ‘shock probation’ thanks to Dem-appointed judge

After being released from prison just a year earlier due to “shock probation,” career criminal Armond Langford found himself back in trouble with the law. Langford allegedly kidnapped a mother and her two young children, forcing them at knifepoint to assist him in robbing a bank in Kentucky.

The terrifying ordeal began when Langford broke into the family’s home in east Louisville. He then coerced the woman to drive him to a bank, where he demanded $20,000 from a teller at the drive-thru. During the robbery, Langford held a knife to the woman’s throat, ultimately stabbing her in the abdomen before fleeing the scene. A manhunt ensued, leading to Langford’s arrest in Lyndon, east of Louisville.

Father Brandon Strong, in disbelief and anger, revealed that Langford had been sentenced to 14 years in prison just a year prior for multiple robbery charges. However, Judge Jessica Green, appointed by Kentucky’s Democratic Governor Andy Beshear, granted Langford “shock probation” after only five months behind bars in July 2024. Shock probation aims to deter criminals by giving them a brief stint in prison.

Strong criticized the decision, questioning how such a violent criminal could be considered for shock probation. He expressed his frustration with the judicial system, calling for accountability and a reevaluation of such lenient sentencing practices.

Langford now faces charges of robbery, kidnapping, and assault in connection with the incident. The case highlights the ongoing debate over the effectiveness of shock probation and the need for stricter consequences for repeat offenders. The victims of Langford’s crimes, including the mother and her children, are left to deal with the trauma caused by his reckless actions.
