Moms left young kids in a car to go drinking in a tequila bar

Two intoxicated mothers were apprehended after leaving four young children, including a baby, unattended inside a car with a significant amount of marijuana while they went to a bar to drink, as per authorities.

The incident took place in Glendale, Arizona, around 11 p.m. on March 8, when concerned bystanders noticed a small child wandering in a parking lot without any parental supervision. The police, who recently released footage of the incident, were alerted by a woman who saw the girl running around and led them to the vehicle.

Upon approaching the car, law enforcement officers discovered three crying children inside, including a 7-month-old infant and another child secured in a car seat. A bag of marijuana was also found in the glove box, easily accessible to the children.

After an extensive search for the parents, the two women eventually appeared and claimed to be the mothers of the children. Both women exhibited signs of intoxication, such as the smell of alcohol and slurred speech, according to the police.

The video footage captured one of the officers confronting the women about leaving their kids unattended for an extended period. The mothers initially claimed they had only gone to the bar for a brief moment to use the restroom, but later admitted to having a drink.

As the situation unfolded, one of the mothers became emotional, expressing her regret and pleading with the officer not to separate her from her children, stating that they are all she has. Despite their pleas, both women were arrested and charged with child neglect.

The children were taken to the hospital for a check-up by Glendale Fire officials. The identities of the women have not been disclosed, and their case has been put on hold as they participate in a parenting skills program.

The alarming incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of neglecting parental responsibilities and the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of children at all times.
