Mr. Met falls off stage during Lumineers concert at Citi Field in embarrassing viral video

Mr. Met, the iconic mascot of the New York Mets, had a bit of a tumble during a recent Lumineers concert at Citi Field. Dressed in a white shirt and suspenders to match the band’s aesthetic, Mr. Met first struggled to catch a tambourine thrown to him by lead singer Wesley Schultz. As he made his way to the center of the stage, he misstepped and fell off the stage where the ramp met the main platform.

The embarrassing moment was caught on video and quickly went viral. Mr. Met momentarily disappeared from view as he tumbled to the ground, but he quickly recovered, raising his hand holding the tambourine to assure the crowd that he was okay. With a wave to the audience, he pulled himself back onto the stage, showing his resilience in the face of a mishap.

Taking to social media, Mr. Met made light of the situation, jokingly referencing the Lumineers’ song “Ophelia” in a post. Despite the fall, he expressed gratitude for the experience and thanked the band for having him on stage. His partner, Mrs. Met, also showed her support for him, sharing a message of love and pride for her man both on and off the stage.

Meanwhile, the Mets had a successful night on the field, rallying for an 8-3 win over the Kansas City Royals. Despite a slow start with just two hits in the first seven innings, the team came alive in the eighth and ninth innings. Mark Vientos delivered a clutch three-run double in the eighth, followed by home runs from Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor in the ninth to secure the victory.

The Mets’ comeback win put them just half a game behind the Phillies in the NL East standings, showcasing their resilience and determination on the field. While Mr. Met may stick to his usual antics on top of dugouts in the future, his brief foray onto the concert stage provided a memorable moment for fans and players alike.
