Multiple people stabbed on train in England — 2 arrested, 12 injured
Ten people were wounded in a horrific stabbing attack on a train in Cambridgeshire, England, by two suspects armed with large knives. The incident took place on a LNER train as it departed from a station in Peterborough en route to London. Nine of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries in the brutal attack.
The two assailants, who were dressed in all-black attire, were swiftly apprehended by the police after being tasered and restrained. Although the motive behind the vicious stabbing spree remains unclear, England’s Counter Terrorism Police have joined the investigation to shed light on the shocking incident.
Eyewitnesses described a scene of chaos and terror as passengers on the train scrambled to escape the attackers. Bloodied passengers were seen fleeing through the carriages in a desperate attempt to avoid further harm. One witness, identified as Gavin, recounted seeing one of the suspects wielding a large knife on the platform.
Videos shared on social media captured the massive emergency response at Huntingdon Station, with numerous police officers and ambulances rushing to the scene. The British Transport Police confirmed that they were responding to an incident involving multiple stabbing victims on the train.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed deep concern over the appalling incident and extended his condolences to those affected. He commended the emergency services for their swift response to the tragic event. However, no details regarding the identities or motives of the attackers have been disclosed at this time.
