Murderabilia from serial killer Aileen Wournos hits the market

True Crime Collective, a popular murderabilia website, has recently acquired personal effects from the infamous female serial killer, Aileen Wournos. Among the items obtained are the sneakers she wore when she was arrested and the crucifix she had around her neck at the time of her execution. True Crime Collective’s Jordan Cook revealed that Wournos’ Size 8 L.A. Gear sneakers will be priced between $20,000 and $30,000, with room for negotiation.

Wournos, also known as the “Damsel of Death,” was responsible for the deaths of seven men during a year-long murder spree in central Florida. She claimed the killings were in self-defense, despite also robbing the victims. She was executed by lethal injection at the age of 46 in 2002. The story of her life and crimes was later portrayed in the 2003 film “Monster,” with Charlize Theron winning an Oscar for her portrayal of Wournos.

In addition to the sneakers and crucifix, True Crime Collective is also offering Wournos’ Bible filled with personal notes, her prison-issued radio and headphones, handwritten letters and drawings priced at around $500 each. Cook mentioned that they also have the last Polaroid of Wournos taken the day before her execution, as well as the flip-flops she wore to the lethal injection room.

The items were acquired from a forensic psychiatrist who had purchased them directly from Dawn Botkins, a friend of Wournos. Each item comes with a letter of authenticity from Botkins, who received the items from Wournos herself with instructions to sell them for money in the future.

The collection also includes the robe Wournos was issued while awaiting trial and a bandana she wore in prison. The bandana is priced at $1,500, while the robe has an asking price of $10,000. Cook anticipates that the sneakers will attract the most interest among collectors.

For those interested in owning a piece of this dark history, all items are available for purchase on the True Crime Collective website. The sale is live now, and items are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Don’t miss this opportunity to own a piece of true crime history.
