Elon Musk recently criticized the tax-and-spending-cut bill supported by President Donald Trump, labeling it a “disgusting abomination” that would lead to significant federal budget deficits.
“I’m sorry, but I just can’t tolerate it any longer,” Musk stated on his social media platform X.
“This extravagant, pork-laden Congressional spending bill is a disgraceful abomination,” added the Tesla and SpaceX CEO.
“Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”
Musk, who previously led the Trump administration’s efforts to reduce government spending, expressed his concerns about the bill’s impact on the budget deficit.
Despite Musk’s criticism, the White House dismissed his remarks, emphasizing the bill’s positive aspects.
Some Republican lawmakers, including Rep. Thomas Massie and Sen. Mike Lee, supported Musk’s stance on the bill’s potential consequences.
Musk had also raised concerns about the bill’s implications on government spending and inflation in a recent interview.
This situation underscores the ongoing debate over fiscal policies and government spending.
