Myles Garrett cited for speeding again — his ninth since 2017
Myles Garrett, the star pass rusher for the Cleveland Browns, has found himself in hot water once again for speeding violations. Last month, Garrett was cited for driving 94 mph in a 70-mph zone in Wayne County, Ohio. This marks at least his ninth speeding infraction since 2017, according to reports.
The citation stated that Garrett was driving a green 2024 Porsche at 1:35 a.m. on Feb 21 after attending a basketball game at Miami (Ohio) where they won against Bowling Green. The officer who pulled him over noted that Garrett was “kind and cooperative” during the interaction. He is scheduled to appear for a court summons on March 10 or pay a fine estimated to be over $100.
This is not the first time Garrett has been caught speeding. In the past, he has received tickets for driving 120 mph and 105 mph in a 70-mph zone within a 24-hour period. He also received a citation in 2020 for driving 100 mph in a 65-mph zone. In 2022, Garrett was involved in a single-car crash leaving the Browns’ facility, where he and a female passenger sustained injuries. He was cited for “failure to control his motor vehicle” and was said to be traveling at an “unsafe speed for the type of roadway.”
Despite these incidents, Garrett has continued to break records on the field. He recently set a new single-season sack record with 23 sacks. However, his off-field behavior has raised concerns about his decision-making.
Garrett, who just completed his ninth season with the Browns, spent part of his offseason supporting his girlfriend, Olympian Chloe Kim, at the 2026 Winter Games in Italy. Kim won a silver medal in the halfpipe event. As he gears up for the upcoming season under new coach Todd Monken, Garrett will need to address his off-field conduct to avoid further legal troubles and distractions from his on-field performance.
