Dad Dead, Mom Critically Injured in House Fire

Tragedy has struck NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin as his father has tragically passed away following a devastating house fire in North Carolina, which also left his mother critically injured.
On Monday evening, Gaston County EMS confirmed that 75-year-old Dennis Hamlin succumbed to injuries sustained in the fire. His 69-year-old mother, Mary Lou Hamlin, was also injured in the fire and is currently in critical condition.
Both victims managed to escape the burning home but suffered severe injuries. Dennis was rushed to the hospital, where he later passed away due to his injuries.
The fire completely destroyed the Hamlin’s home. Firefighters faced challenges in controlling the blaze as they had to bring in water due to a lack of hydrants, which slowed down their efforts. It took approximately two hours to bring the fire under control.
Despite the extensive damage to the property, firefighters were able to salvage some of the racing memorabilia and collectibles from inside the house.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Denny Hamlin has not made any public statements regarding the tragic incident.
