Naseeruddin Shah, Nana Patekar Lead Amazon MX Player Slate
Amazon MX Player, a popular free streaming service in India with over 250 million monthly viewers, has recently announced an exciting lineup of new and returning titles for 2026. This ambitious content slate includes more than 150 shows spanning various genres such as drama, action, reality, and microdrama.
One of the highly anticipated scripted series is “Made In India: The Titan Story,” a drama that delves into ambition and legacy, starring acclaimed actors Naseeruddin Shah and Jim Sarbh. The lineup also features “Sankalp,” a socio-political thriller exploring power and leadership with a stellar cast including Nana Patekar, Sanjay Kapoor, Neeraj Kabi, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
Other notable additions to the dramatic lineup include “Ab Hoga Hisaab,” a justice and retribution thriller featuring Sanjay Kapoor, Shaheer Sheikh, and Mouni Roy, as well as “The Bureaucrat” starring Amol Parashar, “Kaptaan” with Saqib Saleem, “Vimal Khanna” with Sunny Hindhuja, “Waiting Hai” with Divyenndu Sharma and Bhuvan Arora, and “Clean Up Crew” starring Ravi Kishan, Amey Wagh, and Vishal Jethwa.
In addition to the scripted series, Amazon MX Player is also bringing back fan-favorite shows such as “Raktanchal” for its third season, along with youth-centric titles like “Campus Beats” Season 6, “Campus Diaries” Season 2, “Heartbeats” Season 2, and “Who’s Your Gynac” Season 2.
On the reality front, the platform is set to launch the second season of flagship competition “Rise & Fall” and fitness reality series “Battleground” with Shikhar Dhawan returning as the lead mentor. The recently concluded “Bharat Ke Super Founders,” hosted by Suniel Shetty, saw winning startups securing funding of INR100 crore ($10.8 million).
Amazon MX Player’s strategy for 2026 includes expanding its mobile-first microdrama vertical, MX Fatafat, as well as growing its library of localized content from Korea, China, and Turkey under MX Vdesi. The platform will also offer a curated anime slate in Japanese and Hindi languages.
Karan Bedi, head of Amazon MX Player, expressed excitement about the platform’s growing momentum and its ability to attract a large audience to free, premium streaming. Amogh Dusad, head of content, emphasized the importance of creating a diverse and inclusive content ecosystem that resonates with audiences across India.
Girish Prabhu, head of Amazon Ads India, highlighted the commercial opportunities for brands to connect with viewers through content that leverages shopping and streaming signals to drive measurable outcomes. All titles will be available for free streaming on Amazon MX Player across various platforms including mobile, connected TVs, the Amazon shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, Jio TV, and Airtel Xtreme.
