North Carolina man Tyler Weaver, 25, murdered in front of fiancée during ‘targeted’ home invasion, 2 career criminals arrested

A tragic incident occurred in a quiet North Carolina town when Tyler Weaver, a national kart racing champion, was brutally murdered in his own home in front of his fiancée during a targeted home invasion. The 25-year-old was found dead on the floor of his Forest City residence on October 24th, after two suspected career criminals broke in and opened fire.

Weaver, a two-time winner of the 2018 Maxxis Kart Racing National Championship, was shot multiple times during the violent attack. His fiancée, Nevaeh Quintero, managed to escape and alert the authorities. The Forest City Police Chief, Chris LeRoy, described the incident as a “robbery gone bad,” emphasizing that it was a targeted attack.

The suspects, identified as Quitaz Watkins, 35, and Jaquavious Craig, 26, fled the scene after the shooting. Warrants were issued for their arrests, and they were captured 10 days later. Both men have been charged with first-degree murder and are currently being held at the Rutherford County Detention Center without bond.

Watkins, who has a history of criminal activities including assault with a deadly weapon, possession of firearms, and drug trafficking, was apprehended by the Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force. Craig, on the other hand, turned himself in to the police in Rutherford County.
