Nuns, Prison Breaks, Suicides Among Themes at Iberseries Co-Prod Forum
The Iberseries Co-Production & Financing forum is a key initiative that aims to connect filmmakers, producers, and creators from Ibero-America and Europe with projects in late-stage development. This forum is designed to support high-level productions and foster strategic collaborations between industry professionals on both sides of the Atlantic.
Selected teams participating in the forum will have the opportunity to engage in tailored one-on-one meetings with potential co-producers, sales agents, distributors, financiers, and platforms. This networking opportunity is crucial for building partnerships and tracking emerging creative and business trends within the Ibero-American audiovisual sector.
The Iberseries & Platino Industria forum continues to expand its global network through partnerships with major festivals and markets such as Blood Window, FICCI, Rio2C, BIF Market, and Seriencamp. These partnerships enable top-tier projects to join the forum as special guests, creating new paths for international co-production and distribution.
This year’s lineup of projects at the forum includes a diverse range of series from Spain, Portugal, Latin America, Romania, Italy, Germany, Canada, and the U.K. Each of the 11 selected series projects aims to resonate both at home and abroad, showcasing the wide range of storytelling styles in the Ibero-American region.
Some standout projects include “Accounts,” a film exploring gender violence and social reintegration; “Cabildo 71,” inspired by a prison break in Uruguay; and “Closed for Mourning,” a dark comedy-drama about family implosion. Other projects like “Disposable,” an animated revenge thriller, and “Holy Relief,” a provocative erotic comedy set in a convent, offer unique and transgressive storytelling.
In the TV category, projects like “A Remarkable Woman,” blending period allure with a Gen-Z edge, and “Columbus: Myths and Origins,” a docudrama exploring Columbus’ true identity, stand out for their innovative approach to storytelling. Other projects like “Couple’s Apartment,” a dramedy about marriage miseries, and “Saturday Sabadete,” an adult animation about a fallen TV axolotl plotting a comeback, promise to offer fresh and engaging content for viewers.
Overall, the Iberseries Co-Production & Financing forum is a dynamic hub for industry professionals to collaborate, network, and showcase their innovative projects, shaping the future of Ibero-American storytelling.
