NYC mom charged with allegedly stuffing body of newborn into duffel bag, hiding corpse in closet: cops, sources

A tragic incident unfolded in a Brooklyn apartment when a reclusive mother, Gynae Kendall, was charged with concealing the body of her 1-month-old son, Adonnys Kendall. The disturbing discovery was made after the baby’s maternal grandmother called the NYPD for a wellness check, as she had not seen the child for some time. Police found the infant unresponsive inside a duffel bag in a closet in the Flatbush apartment.

Kendall initially claimed that the newborn was with his father, but the father denied it, leading to the heartbreaking discovery of Adonnys’ body. The baby, wrapped in a blanket, was pronounced dead at the scene, with no apparent signs of trauma. Kendall refused to cooperate with authorities and demanded a lawyer before being charged with concealing a human corpse.

Neighbors in the building expressed shock and sadness over the tragic event, with one resident feeling unsafe and wanting to leave the building. Kendall was described as a reclusive presence, rarely interacting with neighbors and only heard playing loud music in her apartment.

Residents also revealed that they were misled about the building being a luxury property, as some tenants were homeless individuals who had secured housing through the city lottery. Adonnys’ father was described as a “creepy” presence who made tenants uncomfortable with his behavior in the building’s common areas.

The father’s inappropriate actions, including stalking and engaging in uncomfortable conversations with tenants, raised concerns among residents. Despite these unsettling encounters, the father has not been charged with any wrongdoing.

The official cause of Adonnys’ death will be determined by the Office of the Medical Examiner, and investigators are awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine if Kendall will face additional charges. The tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning for the loss of the innocent newborn.
